Bill Barrell had his very first show in 1959 at Provincetown’s most unique gallery called the Sun Gallery. Barrell and Irene Baker would eventually take over the gallery when co-founders Yvonne Anderson and Dominic “Val” Francone stayed in New York City to raise a family. While many artists sojourned to Provincetown during the summer Barrell and his family spent the whole year living in the town. Therefore, it is no surprise that Barrell was featured in a show at Gallery Ehva in Provincetown. Barrell exhibited a selection recent paintings alongside his contemporary and friend Arthur Cohen. The show opened on August 15th, 2014 and was on view through the 27th.
